The heart of the Ideal 6000 and its ability to grind parallel to the pivot bolts is the V-support Bar. Back in April, I posted about using a 6000 to grind the V-support Bars and that has been very successful. We have done several small pilot production batches while we tweak the process and now we are doing our first full production batch. The parts are CNC machined, including the precision surfaces, to within .005 inches. This takes less than one hour per bar. Then each bar is precision ground to the final tolerance. This takes about 3 hours per bar just for that last few thousandths of an inch. Why do we obsess so much about a few thousandths of an inch. Because you are mowing greens at less than 100 thousandths of an inch (0.100”) and those few thousandths can impact the quality of your greens and how well the ball rolls (or bounces).
