6-Get a leg up August 1, 2023
As you may have read in a previous blog, I recently finished a 6 year odyssey of reorganizing our inventory. The problem now is that we are making much bigger batches and there is not enough room in the original locations for the quantities we are building. We recently added another pallet rack which we are going to use for long term storage (think Costco or Sam’s Club). We still need to keep them clean and in some cases there are special requirements. The above is a pallet with 208 posts that each hold a leg so that it can not touch another leg. This is important in that it allows the paint to cure and protects it from damage which eliminates the need to individually bag each leg. This allows us to load them on the pallet when the paint is dry but not fully cured. Once the paint is cured, the pallet is covered with a large plastic bag and placed on a pallet rack. This is just one of the many minor efficiencies we have incorporated in the last year which is helping us keep our costs down. And yes, it is heavy.
