7-Now what? August 15, 2023
I cannot remember a time where we have been this busy. In the early 2000’s we were getting a lot of export orders but we could just keep hiring people to keep up. Can’t do that today. We are not even getting applicants let alone qualified applicants. I am trying to stay focused on special projects which don’t usually have a specific deadline. My current special project is a new demo van for Larry, our Western Regional Manager. It has to be done by the end of the month when Larry will be here to pick it up. Mike, our Eastern Regional Manager (and my son-in-law) was supposed to guest write this blog but he is off galavanting in Atlanta with his wife and daughter so here I am writing it at the last minute. There have also been a couple of issues with materials not showing up or showing up wrong to add to the distractions and I thought to myself “What else can go wrong?”
I should not have asked. On Sunday, I felt queazy. On Monday, I tested positive for Covid and then lived on NyQuil for three days. Started feeling better Wednesday night. Got my appetite and tastebuds back on Thursday and felt mostly normal by Friday. The problem…I am still testing positive for Covid, twiddling my thumbs and writing this blog.
